Ok - there's stuff to write. Umbrellas *happyhappyhappy* Silent all these Years and Mother, my moment with Rob last night. Big BIG moment. Uh... and I got jabbed - Hepititis. And... god - the pain of having a little disease (dis - ease) in your body - it... sent me on a slight vision... Uh. I can't write that here.

Peter Berlin.
Pirates.
Uh...

White Flowers
Unnamed
looked like hatching eggs
and smelt of limes
among the fuschas at night
the lunamoths and spiders
weaves their webs and patchs
and my face is an inch from the sky
I touch it with my tongue
the stars are glitter on my lips
I take the moon into my mouth
hide it between cheek and gum
and walk home with it beside my teeth
with the beast at bay
wolf eyes watching all the way
a root of ginger
and a handful of lavender from Denmark
in my little leather pouch.

Andy, that poem is amazing.

You might be aware that I have a job starting in Waterford this September; the WIT wants to put together an anthology of Irish and Newfoundland poems, with (as I understand it) an emphasis on younger, lesser-known poets.

Would it be OK if I tapped you for a few submissions, should I be in a position to do so, this fall?

The funny thing is, this isn't even a poem. This is just a description of my walk home a few nights ago. I didn't spend more than a minute and a half writing it. Hm. You know that's not a boast though. But it's not supposed to be high art - it's just a little ditty to keep me company.

Beyond this however - I would absolutely JUMP at the chance to get involved in anything of the sort as long as you let me know what kind of concept it was and basically what the details were. Let's chat *grin*
