Martha:
Yeah, she was good. Yeah, Rufus came on stage for a coup,e of songs. Yeah, they both snubbed all their fans (the few remaining, non-Irish Times reading kids who remained after the gig) becuase, as Rufus put it: "I have to go eat. No - I'm really hungry, I really have to go eat." Which was somehting compared to Martha's dash from freedom considering she'd told the audience that if you buy a cd "I will sign them."
Actually, it was one of the simultainiously best and rudest concerts I've ever been to. The support, Jonathan Rice, actually said "Ok, I'm playing this one by myself too so you can all stop talking while I'm playing." And then again said "If you don't stop talking you won't be able to hear me." Martha said something similar but made a joke out of it. Still, it put the audience on edge. When Johnny said it everyone went "Oooooooh!"
When Rufus came out everyone cheered. Martha said it was a miricle that they had been born into the same family and were so great. Rufus said they should set up a company with "or eggs and sperm," to which Martha replied " It's called having children." Everyone laughed. Rufus actually seemed a little meek when he said "I could have children!"
Anyway. Good show. Arrogant fuckers.
