I went for lunch with Johnny today. Still marvaling at how intellegent he is. He's in fact one of the best people I've ever met, and even if I only see him once a month for the next three years, I'll be happy I still get to see him. I love the poeple I know. The idea od seeing Emmet beside Ian beside Niamh beside Rob beside Paulo beside Millie beside David beside Kate beside Tom beside Not Charlie beside Ben makes me so moist.

Talking to him made me realise that I am now having a beautiful summer. He reminded me of my pessamisim two months ago and seems so far from what I am feeling now. The city has opened up to me. I can't walk without running into friends. Happens all the time. Here's a blast of quick highlights of the week:

Hepititis:
Wednesday: went to the China Room (plastic furniture) with Rob and his sister becuase we were going for our GUM results. All clear, but the woman "broke me hoop" as Rob put it. Plus, she managed to miss my arm with the Hep needle and get me in the wrist. Luckilly we'd drunk a bottle of Tesco's finest vodka at this stage.

Went out late. Met that (other) beautiful smoker Trinty boy. Made a fool of mesel'. Rob and I ended up in Athena eating pizza and then on Temple bar having a moment talking about me and my attitudes. I really appreciated that, yeh guy? I really, at this point, love Rob to pieces. After he left I sat there and realised things about Little Earthquakes I'd never heard before. Silent all these Years opened up to me and Mother... Wow. And I called ebby. To say g'night. Though the Hepititis left me falling down the lining of the universe and... yeh - my body was in agony and half sleep all night... But I did have visionary dreams.

Jonsing:
Thursday: It was pouring down. I went and met Ian in town and we went to get some coffee. Sat in the IFI all afternoon and discussed comedy writing. It's something we're both trying our hands at. He's some of the favourite company I've ever EVER had. After a bit we went back to his and bought pizza and a couple of bottles of red. We were going to watch Ab Fab, but we ended up in a really interesting convo first and I really enjoyed it. I value him... so much more than I ever expected I would. I rmember saying "I'm going to make Ian my GBF" back 8 months ago when I found out he was gay. I never thought it was not only possible, but that it would actually become the true bones on best friends.

We wathed the second Bridget Jones Film. It's quite sweet. We also, just like last weekend, danced around in the dark to pop music for near an hour. I don't think anyone can do that quite like that. But really it's a bit too... Heh, ceremony to go into. Anyway. I stayed over and the next day went and started work in Juice. What I've always wanted to be: Hot, gay waiter totty! I was on a split shift, so in my break I went to the IFI to see the documentary That Man: Peter Berlin which I found absolutly facinating. I mean, if you've got to let someone fill the split in your shift, it might as well be Peter, eh?

Autism:
Friday: I came home from work to see who was going out of Big Brother in the Orlaith vs. Kemal round as you all know I'm facinated by those two, and was surprised by the result, but I knew it made sense. Of course Orlaith has since walked. But no matter. If they're both back in the real world I can shag them easier. Sat in with Rachel and Louise and had a blast of a conversation and a bakewell tart. Then headed down to Hogan's to see David.

Ran into andy in there. Though he got kicked out. He's such a sweet, charming drunk. So long story short, David and I went into Dragon and bought ludachris cocktails in big glasses. Back though to the small-city thing I ran into Rory as soon as I was in there: "Is he six or seven?" And had a good dander about. Then headed to Davids for a joint. Had a great wee chat. He said a couple of things I really reemmber:

"I don't think I've ever met someone so unnaffected by day to day life."
"You have a fantastic taste in poeple." (which compliments EVERYONE on my friends list)
"Have you ever considered that you might be autistic?" (Personally or metaphorically?) "No, you personally."

And we chatted about his 'lover.' But that's nothing to do with you. And then he kinda made my pulse pick up... He does that. That's the strangest thing when that happens. My ear lobe has never felt in so much danger before. And then sleep.

Cambodia:
Friday: I met Emmet after work and we went to see the Fantastic Four together. I have to be honest - I liked it. I was worried that they'd try and make it into something sexy, but even Jessicca Alba and Chris Evans (fanarrr!) can't save them from the fact that F4 (I'm surprised they didn't shorten the title to that) are the campest superheros of all time. It was a bit trashy, and I hadn't known up until then that they were all Hispanic (continuity!) but I like dit anyhow's. It was wonderful to see Emmet again, becuase he's just... such a darling boy. His hair is longer now, considering he's been a recluse for a month and a half. But then, I'm not blond anymore, so I understand. Plus, we ran into [info]notcharliebrown which always makes me innumerably happy. And I should see him later.

I picked up my tips and was going to head home when I ran into Ian and Jane (reunited at last) on Grafton Street. See what I mean about the encroaching smallness of the city? So she screamed and hugged me like a wild one and then we went and sat outside Dakota and she shared her travel stories. Mister Wee and being trapped on a bus in Cambodia surrounded by seven encroaching police with big guns. Her "goo' pice fe uoo o' goo' pice fe mee," "ooohuu, uoo dive a haad baagin ladty! Ladty dive a haad baagin!" stories continued through most of asia. And Jane does indeed drive a hard bargin. But she seemed to have a wonderful time.

I went with them to Doyles but it wasn't my scene so I headed up and stopped in at Dragon. It was really nice in there. They stopped me at the door and asked if I'd ever been before - I must be looking so straight right now. i thought I was going to end up being realy obnoxious but in the end I was cheered up by most everyone I met and I just started giving out compliments. I met my tuter Porrig (whatever) and said to him "Dunne's kids section?" He said "Tesco - how did you know?" I have the same tshirt darling. He's actually a real hottie when I see him in that light. Heh. I had a couple of lovely, baggage free snogs too, like with that guy I always snog when I'm drunk. Wonderous.

I met this nice guy from Northern Ireland who lives in London called Michael too. He had dark Irish prince curles. Very country boy at the market. He was darling. Awful kisser, but a lovely guy. He worked for the BBC. I took his card. Oh yes.

And then there was today. It was great meeting Johnny for lunch. He's just back from Cyprus and was exausted. But we went for lunch in Busyfeet and he waxed lyrical. Man, he realy does make me feel not as smart as I should be. He was talking all about the concept of belief and brought up the gnostics again. But we get on a treat, and like I said, I hope we always will. Right now I'm trying to organise some knack drinking at my Gaff at SPY tonight. There's a while to go and it might not be as wonderous as we all hope - but there SHOULD bve at least four of us arriving together. Huzzah! Later.
